 National Apologies !
22 -October-2018

"The achievements of the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse are a tribute to the victims and survivors, their families and supporters. Their courage has helped create a culture of accountability and of trust in children's voices that help all of us take responsibility for keeping children safe and well".
On Monday 22 October 2018, the Prime Minister of Australia, the Hon Scott Morrison MP, delivered the National Apology to Victims and Survivors of Institutional Child Sexual Abuse at Parliament House in Canberra.
Hundreds of survivors of child sexual abuse have gathered at Parliament House for an apology from the Prime Minister.
Standing with opposition leader Bill Shorten and the chairwoman of the national apology reference group, Cheryl Edwardes, Australian prime minister Scott Morrison delivers a national apology to victims and survivors of child sexual abuse in the Great Hall of Parliament House after a moving speech in the House of Representatives.
'Today, the Australian government and this parliament on behalf of all Australians unreservedly apologises to the victims and survivors of institutional child sexual abuse,' Morrison says. 'For too many years our eyes and hearts were closed to the truths we were told by children'
